What is ‘Clinical Notes in myMPS’ and how does it benefit my practice
The electronic Clinical Notes now available directly in myMPS offer a simple way for Allied Professionals to digitise their clinical notes. When you are able to run all of your daily practice and business processes from one system, delivering care is easy as the clinical & billing process is unified and becomes a seamless process.
You’ll find that bringing more of your practice processes to a paperless environment is a powerful and proven way to improve the management & efficiency of your business as well as your patients’ care.
How to activate Clinical Notes
- Click on the ‘Add-Ons’ button in myMPS.
- Click on the ‘Activate’ button on the Clinical Notes tile.
- Select the package that you would like to activate.
- Check that you have read and accept the Terms of Service.
- Click ‘Proceed’.
Once you have activated your Clinical Notes, you will be sent to the ‘Settings - Clinical Notes’ screen to select which providers will have access to create/edit clinical notes.
Note: All providers linked to your practice will be able to view the clinical notes, however, only those selected on the settings screen will be able to create new notes and edit notes that are in a ‘Draft’ status.
How much does this cost and what value do I get for this
During the launch promotional period, there will be no charge for the Clinical Notes service.
Thereafter, the monthly pricing will be as follows:
- myMPS Clinical notes Single- R149* (1 Provider)
- myMPS Clinical notes Double - R249* ( 2 Providers)
- myMPS Clinical notes Small - R449* ( 6-10 Providers)
- myMPS Clinical notes Medium - R799* ( 6-10 Providers)
- myMPS Clinical notes Large - R999* ( 11+ Providers)

How to deactivate Clinical Notes
- Click on the ‘Add-Ons’ button in myMPS.
- Click on the ‘Deactivate’ button on the Clinical Notes tile.
Note: Should you choose to deactivate your Clinical Notes feature, all previously captured notes will remain visible as read-only, however, you will not be able to create any new notes.
Should you then wish to create new notes, you would need to re-activate your Clinical Notes service.
How to create a clinical note
- To add new clinical notes, click on the ‘add new’ button.
This will open the ‘Clinical Notes’ screen where you are able to complete an assessment on your patient.
- Expanding the ‘Anatomical View’ will allow you to annotate on the diagrams. Clicking on the body part you wish to make a note about, and dragging a line to where you would like to make the note, will cause a text box will then appear, allowing you to capture any notes.
The ‘Clear’ button will clear all annotations from the image.
The ‘Reset’ button will only clear new annotations that were made since the notes were opened.
- The ‘Subjective’, ‘Objective’, ‘Assessment’, and ‘Plan’ sections can then be filled in as needed.
How to save for later or lock your notes
Should you wish to just save, and continue completing the notes later, click on ‘Save as draft’. This will allow you to edit your notes at a later stage.
To finish your note taking, click on ‘Save and lock’. This will complete your note taking for this encounter and lock the notes, preventing any further edits.
How do I view previous notes
- Open the patient’s ‘Account Details’ page.
- Select the patient from the ‘Account Members’ section on the page.
- Select the ‘Clinical Notes’ tab.
- Select the required note under ‘Clinical Notes’
How to update general progress notes
To update general progress notes, clink on the edit icon () in the ‘General Progress Notes’ block and enter the required information. When you are done, click the ‘Save’ button.
Who has access to view my notes
All active treating providers linked to your practice will be able to view your clinical notes.
Are my notes shareable and exportable
Yes, clinical notes where you have clicked ‘Save and lock’, to finalise your notes, are able to be emailed and printed as needed.
How do I find and edit my draft notes
Only notes that have been saved as draft by clicking ‘Save as draft’ in the creation phase will be editable.
To edit your draft notes, go to the Clinical Notes page and select the clinical note that you wish to edit from the list at the bottom of the page.
Edit the notes as needed and when complete, ‘Save and lock’. If you would like to come back and edit the notes further, click ‘Save as draft’
What is the character limit on the SOAP template
The character limit for the large text boxes on the Clinical Notes is 1500 characters.
How does the copy and create feature work
‘Copy and create new’ will open a new Clinical Notes window and copy all the fields from the clinical encounter with the new clinical note and the applicable date of service, providing speed and continuation from the previous encounter by populating the previous encounters notes.
How can I customise the SOAP template and add my own anatomical information
The current SOAP template is the generic clinical note template available. In future releases the ability to create your own customised template and attach different images for annotations.
